If you're looking for something to warm the soul, the newly introduced Sunday Roast reveals G & G’s commitment to offering traditional comforts. Diners can indulge in succulent roast beef, perfectly cooked vegetables, and fluffy Yorkshire puddings, all crafted with care. Each plate is a nod to cherished family gatherings, sure to elicit feelings of warmth and nostalgia, just like Shirley Young described after enjoying the perfectly cooked beef.

We had heard and seen great reviews on the fish and chips that are served here so had to try for ourselves. And they certainly lived up to our expectations. The batter on the fish was so light and crispy, the fish was perfectly cooked so too the chips, mushy peas were great and so was the Tatar sauce. The portions were plentiful and overall the meal definitely fulfilled the 'saudade' of home foods. Service was excellent, very friendly and attentive. We will return soon, I think we'll try the sticky ribs next time.

Great communication with order placed prior to visit. Welcoming host with attentive quality. Food delicious hot and plentiful. Ambience excellent with music in the background of our conversation. With the upcoming menu of Full Sunday Roast I can see this little diamond will be on our eat out list

Bare in mind that this is a cafe located in a very small village in Portugal. In this context, the experience was outstanding. It was the best fish and chips (with tartar sauce and mushy peas) we had in Portugal - our reference is the ones we tried in Somerset or London when we lived there. The apple crumble with vanilla ice-cream was epic, and other desserts caught my eye, for a next time. I'd also love to try their Sunday Roast or English Breakfast, but knowing myself as I do, I'll probably just end up having the fish and chips again. The owners are caring and charming. Reservations are accepted. We are definitely returning. Patrons be advised: when we were there, card wasn't a possibility, and the closest ATM is in the main town 5 kms away. Like I mentioned, this is in a very small village. Suggestion to the owners: pickled eggs and gherkins to go with the fish and chips. Also, maybe additional choice of beers and/or cider would be a nice extra. Wishing all the best.
